Hello everyone, just to let you now, I’m not dead. I guess that I lost motivation for my sylvanians at the end of last year. This year I have been busy with schoolwork and assignments and just have generally not been motivated to post, nor felt the creativity to create and craft. My sylvanians have been pushed to the back of my mind unfortunately. But since about a month ago, I have felt this need and tug to get them out and create stories with again. I don’t know what triggered this, maybe the stress of exams? My final end of year exams start on the 8th next week and are spread out until the 26th of November. It’s odd really. Stress usually makes me forget about my SF but now I think I remember the peace that comes with interacting and using my critters again, so this I think makes me drawn to them again. I don’t know what it will look like but I think I am going to get back into SF and updating this blog again. You can’t imagine the joy I felt when I opened my blog again for the first time in like nearly a year. Earlier today I went through and began to dust my collection; I don’t think that I have felt so excited in a long time!
So how has my life changed since last year? Well I am now in my third to last year of school so the pressure to do well is building, I have a part time job and next week one of my good friends is moving away to Australia. In general I am pretty good I guess, in comparison to last year I am a lot more stressed but I think I am managing it okay.
Anyway, I have the photos for the final part of the Buckley house renovation ready and I hope to have that posted soon (but who knows) as well as a final reveal of the house. We shall see! I hope all of you are doing well. In the next few days/weeks I will be going through all of the wonderful SF blogs I know and having a look at what you have been up to since last year.
Hugs, Emily
I am happy to hear this update just to know that you are well!!
Things in life do pile on and get stressful.
I hope one day you will have time to make up stories and share your little sweet critters soon.
Best wishes with school and friends
Hello Rosemary! Yes an update has been long overdue ?. It may just be my bad memory but I don’t remember you having commented on my blog before, so if you are new, hello and welcome! Do you have a blog of your own?
I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for the good wishes, Emily
Hello Emily – it’s so lovely to hear from you! Caitlyn and I wondered what had become of you – we thought perhaps you were finished with your Sylvanians. I am glad to hear that that is not the case – I always look forward to reading your posts. Sometimes life just gets in the way though, doesn’t it? That’s okay – the good thing is, Sylvanians are very patient, and will always be waiting for you to come visiting them again… :o)
Hello! I am really happy that I have found my way back to my sylvanians and will start posting more things soon. You are right with sylvanians being very patient, mine just quietly sit in their boxes, waiting. I think that in a way they probably knew that I wouldn’t forget them completely!
I hope that you have both had a good day, Emily
Hi Emily!
So happy to see that you’re back! I completely understand regarding stress, I remember my final high school years being quite demanding as well. Take care of yourself, hope your Sylvanians help you relax a little! They sure are adorable, at least! 🙂
Looking forward to reading your newest posts. Best of luck in your exams!
Hello Ayrell! Thanks for your good wishes, I have completed a third of my exams now. I will photograph the finished Buckley house at the end of the week.
Have a great week!
Dear Emily,
It was awesome to read your life update, because Fudge was pestering me about news from you lately and I didn’t know what to tell him. 🙂
I can imagine that your schoolwork and assignments can make it really hard to find the time and energy to spend creative time with your Sylvanians. But I agree with GreyRabbit: Sylvanians are patient and will be there for us whenever we want them to. 🙂
Good luck with your end of year exams and everything else.
Hippolina and Jemima say hello. 🙂
(Did you see in my last post that Hippolina took along Lola-May, the little rabbit doll you gave her for christmas last year?)
Hugs, Nina
Hello Nina!
Well even though it was long overdue, you now have a life update! I have done half my exams already so I look forward to not having those to worry about anymore. The patience of sylvanians is one thing I love about them, they are always there just waiting until you are ready to interact with them again. I saw Hippolina and when I looked at your photo again I did recognize Lola-May! I’m happy that Lola-May has such a good guardian, Hippolina seems to take great care of her. The Buckley’s still have their bats who have a nice place in their living room, which you will see in the house tour that I will post soon. Have a wonderful day!
Hugs, Emily ?
Hi Emily!
Welcome back!
I´m so happy to hear from you!
I guessed you were busy with school work as you were very busy last year too. I also thought you had lost interests in sylvanians but I´m glad to know it was not exactly that. I feel the same when stress is high in my life so I completely relate to you. I´ve been very busy for the past few months and when life gets so much in the way I lose my inspiration and interest in sylvanians. The idea of setting up a scene makes me feel even more stressesd out . The good thing is our sylvanians are always there for us, no matter how long we take to bring them back to life again.
Hope you did well in your final exams!
Have a nice weekend!
Hello Cutata, it is lovely to hear from you! I can relate how the very idea of setting up a scene causes even more stress, that’s what I felt this past year as well. Don’t feel any pressure to create posts, if you aren’t feeling inspired it’s good to take a break and come back refreshed. I hope that, unless you like to be very busy, your life slows back down to a more comfortable pace soon. My exams did mostly go well thanks but we will know for sure in January when the results come out.
Merry Christmas!
