Finally! New Photos and Descriptions!

Yes, a few weeks ago I promised to take photos of the changes to my collection. Finally (I promised to have them done by the 20th Feb) I have taken them. Here are the photos I will add/ replace to the Meet the Critters category:

Macavity Cat Family

Alonzo Macavity

Alonzo Macavity is a kind, family man who loves doing things with his wife and children. He and Caroline did a parent roles swap so knows how dificult it is to be a mother and therefore brings Caroline breakfast in bed every Sunday. He also runs the village Bakery and wakes up very early in the morning to bake bread which is apsolutely delicious so that many of the villagers get up early to get the freshest and warmest loafs of bread!

Caroline Macavity

Caroline Macavity also helps out at the Backery and she specialises in making shaped toasts and buns which are very popular with the children (and adults!) in the village. Being a mother of seven children is not an easy job but Caroline loves almost every minute of it, her children bring her so much joy. Some of her favourite things to do are to bake and then close the Bakery for an hour and taking a morning stroll along the river.

Lupin Macavity

Lupin Macavity is not so sure if he wants to some day run the Bakery as he is not such a good baker himself. He would much rather do some sort of woodwork and has befriended Aaron Cottontail and Eric Bramble who build furniture and construct all sorts of things. Fishing is another one of his favourite things to do so regulary arranges Father Son days where he, his younger brother Rumpus and his Father go fishing together.

Clara Macavity

Clara Macavity is very ladylike. She prides herself in her well dressed appearance and her near perfect manners. When she is not chatting with some other females in the community or drinking tea, she can be found most likely sitting under a tree either reading a romance novel or sewing something. She has recently taken up quilting as well. Of course being the eldest daughter in the household, she is expected to help clean and cook but does this rather willingly. Clara refuses to call her younger sister Asparagus by her real name since it is “unladylike” calling her sister a vegetable and therefore has resorted to calling her Aspa.

Rumpus Macavity

Rumpus Macavity loves to wind his sister Asparagus up. One of his favourite ways to get his sister annoyed at him is to, whenever they have asparagus, is to chase his sister round and round the room with a fork shouting “come here vegetable! I want to eat you asparagus”. His mother Caroline often sends him to his room because of this but Rumpus always thinks it is worth it. He has a passion for football but would rather tease his sister than play.

Asparagus Macavity

Aspargus Macavity hates it when her brother Rumpus teases her about her name. Some of her new nicknames include Veggie and Asparagus wishy washy because she really dislikes washing the dishes. Asparagus would like to learn an instrument but has not yet decided which one she would like to play, there are just so many options! But with a friend like Megan Appleseed, she will soon find an instrument that she wants to learn to play.

Skimble Macavity

Skimble Macavity is a good little girl who likes to please her family. She often makes little presents out of things she has found or collected out on a walk such as flowers, pretty pebbles, oddly shaped leaves and so much more! One of her favourite treats are her Mothers cat shaped breads, they are so light and fluffy!

Electra & Etcetera Macavity

Electra & Etcetera Macavity are quite quiet babies who like nothing better than to be taken around in their pram. Etcetera is always at the front since he really enjoys looking about while his twin sister Electera finds that all of this fresh air makes her very sleepy and mostly naps at the back of the pram.

Hazlewood Mouse Family

Henry Hazlewood

Henry Hazlewood was once a famous chef but in the last couple of years he went traveling around the world and saw many countries. But his favorite was Austria because he liked fir tree forests, skiing, country side and their traditonal clothes, dirdle and lederhosen. But now he works at his own restaurant called the Harvester Restaurant which is actually inside the old village store building which he has re decorated. He is very proud to have such a wonderful wife and daughters.

Tabitha Hazlewood

Tabitha Hazlewood is a very friendly lady. She is very proud of her husbands restaurant and sometimes she and Henry eat there. At home though, Tabitha does the cooking since Henry is often shattered after his day. Wash day is very important to her but wishes that she had a proper washingline to hang her clothes on. Luckily, for Christmas, Henry and Mayor Elliot Beaman arranged for one to be built. You can imagine how thrilled Tabitha was to have her own proper washing line!

Evie Hazlewood

Evie Hazlewood ejoys having sleepovers at her friends houses and owns a very pretty pink night gown. She would have liked to wear it during the day as well but her parents insisted that she should get a proper dress. The dress is very pretty so Evie now happily wears it. Collecting flowers is something she loves to do and decorates her room with them all the time. No wonder spring is her favourite season!

 Millie Hazlewood

Millie Hazlewood loves her Daddys food and is intrested in his travels. For her he is the best dad in the whole world and she wants to be just like him. She is a very keen little chef and and her father calls her ”my little apprentice” sometimes when they cook together. Being adopted, Millie does hope that she can find her real family some time but for the time being, she is happy enough to be with her adoptive family since they treat her just like a proper daughter.

Slydale Fox Family

Linda Slydale

Linda Slydale is a happy little girl who spends most of her time on the playground. She enjoys spending time with her friends and sometimes even gets to go on the big children swing which is hung off a branch in a clearing of the nearby forest.

Lopez Dog Family

Benny Lopez

Benny Lopez is a quiet boy who prefers to play with building blocks and toy trains rather than play on the busy playground. Though usually quiet, he gets very excited if he hears that if he is good he will get a treat, he loves candy!

Golightly Cat Family

George & Gwendolyn Golightly

George and Gwendolyn love to play outside. Well, George does. He likes to explore and play while his sister is a napper and prefers to sleep to pass time until it is time for a meal.

Here they are! I will put them on the Meet the Critters page now. Do you like Evie’s dress? I made it this afternoon since she just cannot be in her nightie all the time! I think I will post a review next weekend.

A Morning in the Cottontails House

Very early in the morning, Sorrel Cottontail awakens from her slumbers and hops out of bed. Since it is still quite chilly, she still wears her thick nighty which is good for sleeping in but not for working. Both husband and children are still sound asleep in their beds.

Sorrel dresses herself and climbs down the ladder to the kitchen where it is very cold and in desperate need of a fire. In a corner there is a little green basket where there should be wood for the fire, but there isn’t any. Aaron, Sorrels husband, had promised her that he would chop some wood the day before but that clearly did not happen. Of course, no one wanted to make breakfast in a cold room so there had to be a fire to warm things up a bit.

Unfortunatly this meant for Sorrel that she, at six o’clock in the morning had to go out into the frezzing outdoors, chop some wood and then carry it all the way back to her little cottage. Sighing, she put on a knited coat, picked up a wheelbarrow and of she went. The wood chopping was exhausting so it’s no wonder that Sorrel had to stop several times to catch her breath! Tomorrow, Aaron, no, today, Aaron will chop enough wood to last the family for a whole week Sorrel decided as she finally reached the sleepy cottage.

“There we go!” exclaimed Sorrel, putting the last piece of wood in the basket.

The day before was quite busy so that there wasn’t any time to buy bread from the Bakery for breakfast the next day. Fortunatly, the Bakery was open when Sorrel had arrived and throught the village drifted the wonderful scent of fresh bread.

“Hello, hello Sorrel!” said Alonzo Macavity brightly “already awake?”

“No, not really but I need bread so I came early” replied Sorrel cheerfully.

“Oh, I thought that you were sleeping in.”

“Me? Sleep in? No, no my dear Alonzo! I have a cottage to warm up and a family to feed or do you get up at six in the morning to chop wood for a fire?”

“Ahh, no. But I do get up at five to make bread”

“True, true, lets not argue but please could I have some bread”

“Alright, what would you like?” Alonzo asked.

“Um, two pieces of bunny shaped toast, two cat shaped breads and one cat shaped toast please for Charlie, he doesn’t like anything else in the morning”

Alonzo quickly got everything and placed it in a basket when he noticed Sorrel looking interested in the doughnuts he had on display,

“Doughnuts for the children? A special treat?” teased Alonzo, knowing what Sorrels reaction would look like and true enough:

“Oh no Alonzo. You managed to convince me to get them last week and if I get them too often they won’t be special anymore!” Sorrel exclaimed in an exhasperated voice, tearing her gaze from the suggary iced doughnuts.

She paid before waving goodbye and hurridly walking out of the door of the warm bakery. Alonzo and his eldest daughter Clara waved back before returning to their usual tasks.

After stopping to get some fruit and milk Sorrel returned home and immediatly set the kettle on since it was already 7.30!

“Good morning honey!” came a voice behind Sorrel as she had finally finished laying the table.

“Good morning, dear, did you sleep well?” she asked her husband who was still yawning.

“Yes I did though I am still a bit tiered. Brrrh! It is not that warm in here darling, have you made a fire?”

“Well, while you were slumbering I had to chop some wood at the crack of dawn and then had to go shopping after I wasn’t able to yesterday because you got all of the house muddy after another “nature expedition””

“Ah sorry darling, I can chop the wood today” Aaron apologised, hugging his wife.

At that moment Willow and Peter, the children, came rushing in, hugging first their father and then their mother.

“What are we having for breakfast?”

“Can I go to Rosies house today? the called.

“Wait a moment. Have you all made your beds?”

“Yes!” exclaimed Willow

“Yes!” agreed Peter

“No” mumbled Aaron “But I will do that now” he added.

Willow and Peter sat down at the table when two voices came floating down the ladder, it sounded a lot like that Charlie had woken up. Sorrel found the biggest plate she had and placed it by her little ones seat. Crumbs would still go everywhere but not as much if she gave Charlie a regular one.

Very soon they were all having breakfast together and talking about the day ahead of them.

“Charlie, Mummy has given you a big boys glass cup today and do not drop it or knock it off the table please” Sorrel warned

“Yes Mummy!” Charlie replied, trying to grab the glass handle and then asking for a drink of milk.

The breakfast table had been cleared and Aaron, Willow and Peter went out on a walk. Sorrel laid herself on her comfy bed and was wishing she could fall asleep. But with a noisy three year old playing beside her, this was unlikely to happen. It was only the start of the day and Sorrel was already tiered.

Just a quick story today. Some of the photos are a bit blurry but I hope you still liked the story anyway!

Evies Sleepover Set Review

So, yes, I am finally posting this review that was suggested! Here is everything included in the set.

Items included are: Halzelwood child figure, slleping bag, bed chair, hair brush, alarm clock, hot water bottle, cloth, two books, mirror, toothpaste, toothbrush, cup and a bunny toy.

Now, some of the items were a bit different to how they were on the box, some more than others so to avoid anyone getting dissapointed like me when they first open the set, I have here photos of the changes.

The brush bristles are a different colour and does not have the two top lines on the handle, only the bottom.

Yep, the picture speaks for itself. It is all a different colour!

The fabric is different in colour and pattern. I know it may be lighting but the flowers look quite different to me.

Hmm, the face cloth. Don’t you think it should well, look more orange?

The figure is going to have a bit of a hard time sleeping on the chair bed since the sleeping bag is a whole lot bigger!

Here are my three Hazelwood mice, they each have a unique colour.

The mouse on the left is the newer figure but is a whole lot lighter.

The face shape is also different.

The rabbit toy, you can’t see it very well in the photos was actually dirty and not all of the dirt I could get off, even after washing and rubbing it’s white fur.

Well, you can see here that there are a few changes but I found that you get used to them. I mean I was extremly dissapointed when I opened the set but now, two month onward, they aren’t such a big deal anymore. I am begining to grow onto this set again and I am sure many also would, even though it is not like it is pictured. Still, the flocking of the figure is excellent!

February 2017

Hello! Febraury is here now and I can remember sitting here this time last year too! School has started for me again =( so I now have to fit SF time in with school and homework. This month I am not really sure what I will post yet though I am currently writing the Sleepover Set Review which I plan to post soon. I also entered a SF New Zealand Competition so we’ll see how that turns out since by the end of the month they should announce the winners as the competition closed yesterday. I hope that you all have a good Febrauary!
