“The great annual book festival is going to be on tomorow and my, I do not think that Sabrina Quilton stands a chance. Not with Anne and Quentin Appleseed working so hard, very popular authors.” droned on Mrs Marmalade, then stopped when Henry Doormouse rushed in,

“Any news?” he asked.

“No, none, but, no news is good news in a way, imagen if…”

“Yes, but we hope for the best, there is a big article on Megan at the front of The Daily Critter .” (The daily critter is a nation wide newspaper)

Chelsea Blackberry felt quite weak with worry now and when she tried to stand up, her muscles failed her. If only Megan would be reunited with herself soon!

In Pumpkin Ville however, Elsebeth Quilton had other ideas. “Tut, tut, tut” she said reading the news paper, “I hope my letter reaches them soon, when Sabrina wins… Now I just have to send a little package to my dear husband Strewet…”

In Basswood Creek Mayor Trunk had come to see Lauren Marmalade, they were talking in low voices.

“A letter just came through, read it” said Mayor Trunk Elsebeth Quilton

“gasp”

“I know”

“Megan Applseed has been kidnapped and if the parents do not want their daughter to leave the country forever then please ensure that the appleseed parents humiliate themselves at the great annual book festival, yours… yours… yours…Notliuq Htebesle!”

“Notliuq Htebesle! That is Elsebeth Quilton backwards, my, the woman is no only selfish but also really um, lets say unimaganative!”

“What?!” Chelsea cried, she had heard every word, while Mayor Trunk tried to sooth her, Lauren went to answer the door.

It was Perkin Fisher the village postman who did not mean to ring the doorbell but just bumped into it, Chelsea who ran after Lauren saw the parcle and was very confused.

“You see, some one removed some of the name tags and one of these parcles” he pointed to a large stack of parcles” were supposed to go to Sylvanian City so I need to bring them all back to the mail center.”

Chelsea screamed , the parcle was moving!

They unwrapped it and Chelsea gasped,

“Megan!”

“Oh Aunt Chelsea, this terrible woman dressed up as you but she really was an elephant and then she locked me in a secret room and then she said that I would be sent to her husband and then she wrapped me up in this parcle and then she said that Sabrina was going to win and and and I was going to live with her parents in a secret location till they were going to get rid of me!” she burst out.

“That explains it, Elsebeth would do anything to be famous” Perkin aswered “but mind you, because of this, she will not be able to enter the competition at all!”
