Hello Everyone!
Since I will post a Halloween Story on Monday I decided not to do a blog post this weekend. Instead I am going to tell you why I have re named my village. Yes, I did write a bit on this in my last post(Maxi’s Halloween Costume) but here is the full story.
Originally I did not like the name Basswood Creek that much, it reminded me of a dark, polished table. But I stuck with it and therefore it was called Basswood Creek, the name was rather catchy. But around a month or so ago I was looking at my village and my figures and asked myself if I would like to live in my village. I then realized that I was not that happy with my village and it could do with some improvement, I decided it was time for a new start.
So, now Elliot Beaman has replaced Hugo Trunk as Mayor and I really wanted a new name for my village. I thought that Dandelion Creek was a very nice and light name, unlike Basswood Creek. I do still like the name Basswood Creek but…
Anyway, do you think I have made the right decision? Should I change the name of my village in previous blog posts?
Please let me know in the comments,
Emily
I’m a terrible decision maker. Go with your gut instinct! 🙂
I think that I will for a few weeks will just get used to the name and then decide what I am going to do.
Emily
Emily,
You know, Basswood Creek reminds me of a dark, polished table too… Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But I believe that if you aren’t alltogether happy with something you should make a change and a new name might be the first step!
Also, I think it’s great you’ve replaced the mayor! Maybe Elliott Beaman will help you with your decision making and come up with some additional ways to improve life for the villagers! 🙂
Best wishes,
Nina
I hope that changing the name will help me make my village a bit better. Elliot Beaman has been very helpful with making decisions. He rises early and spends half the night brainstorming, such a hard worker! Thank you for your comment Nina.
Emily
Aww, that’s adorable. I’m glad to hear that Mr Beaman is such a hard worker. It’s the changes in life that usually keep us busiest.
Maybe you could make a tiny post of him inside his mayor’s office, while he is brainstorming or organising some new village project. 🙂
Nina
What a good idea! Elliot has not got an office yet since the house he lives in is quite small (and he makes such a mess of his work space that Evangeline his wife cannot bear to look at his desk). He has howver been taking up a whole lot of space in the bakery now after Henry Doormouse said that he was taking up too much room in the restaurant and had to leave. I need to see what I can do a story about. Maybe one about the struggles of being a mayor? With Elliot planning new ideas and sharing his frustrations?
Emily
I would love to read about that!
And then maybe the mayors of other villages could leave helpful suggestions for Elliot in the comments.
What a good idea! I might post that next weekend since tomorrow or today I will post a review of several items which I have recently gotten.

For a non native English speaker like me, Dandelion Creek means more. I didn´know the meaning of basswood until I looked up in a dictionary. I love dandelions. I remeber blowing them when I was a child and my oldest daughter does it now too, so to be honest with you I like it more.I agree with you , it sounds nice and light, as dandelions are but you have the final word,This is just my opinion.
Thank you for your opinion Cutata, I agree with you. I am now quite certain that I do want to change the name. I am the same as you, english is my second language since my first is german =)
